Winter Solstice fundraising challenge

We are holding a fun event on Saturday 21 June to help fundraise for member Thomas Russell, who is off to compete in the ICF Junior Sprint World Championships. Paddlers of all abilities are welcome. Donations are tax deductible.

Geelong Canoe Club’s 2025 annual general meeting is being held at our clubrooms on Saturday 19 July at 9.30 a.m. Nominations for committee members are now open so please consider voting for someone or nominating for a position.

Marathon series City Singles race is on at Essendon

Paddle Victoria's next marathon event is on Sunday 15 June 2025 at the Essendon Canoe Club. It's a designated singles event but doubles are welcome. A great introductory race for beginners and an opportunity for paddlers of all levels to test their skills on the Maribyrnong River.

Update on club activities

Now that daylight savings has ended we've changed the schedule for some of our group activities. Tuesday evening, and Saturday morning social paddles and paddle pursuits continue. Canoe polo has changed to Sunday afternoons. Come join in the fun.

Volunteers needed for paddle championships this weekend

GCC is hosting the Paddle Victoria Marathon Championships over the weekend from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 March. Come along to spectate or take part in the excitement and help Paddle Victoria and us run the event by volunteering.

Geelong Canoe Club End of Year Sprint and Celebration Event

On Saturday 7 December celebrate the end of the year and the Christmas season at Geelong Canoe Club’s End of Year Sprint Event. This event will feature three sprint races with the first race starting at 9.30. A Christmas-themed morning tea upstairs at the Clubhouse will follow from 11:00am. Registrations for the sprint events are essential by 11:59pm, Wednesday 4 December.

Point Roadknight Ocean Paddling Challenge results

While the beautiful sands of Point Roadknight offered warm and sunny conditions for spectators, the on water conditions for paddlers who took to the water for the Paddle Victoria Ocean Paddling Point Roadknight Ocean Challenge proved a more challenging (but still awesome) experience. Well done to everyone who participated and a big thank you to volunteers who helped run this event.

Despite the wintery conditions there was a great turn out for this year's Annual General Meeting where we elected the 2024/25 Executive Committee and the winners of the 2023/24 Reg Parker Club Person of the Year and Paddler of the Year awards.

The Geelong Canoe Club is a strong supporter of safety and inclusion in Australian sport and has adopted the National Integrity Framework, a suite of integrity policies developed by Sport Integrity Australia. Playing by the Rules' latest magazine explains everything you need to know about safety, inclusion and the framework so that we can all play our part in Playing by the Rules.

Member notice: Request to move craft for rack expansion

GCC is increasing the amount of craft it can store by altering the existing rack system. To enable this work we are asking members to remove their craft before 5pm on Friday 15 March 2024. It is anticipated the process should only take the weekend.
