Barwon River closures, events and zoning

Barwon River is sometimes closed in sections for special events like rowing regattas, paddle marathons and water skiing. There are also events such as running marathons held which impact access to the waterway.

These activities are managed by Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CCMA) as they are responsible for the 20km stretch of river that goes through Geelong including where Geelong Canoe Club is located.

Information changes regularly. For the latest including zoning and closures, events and maps visit the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority's website - 'Public notices' and 'Barwon River Zoning 2022/23'.
